The salubrious climate of Nepal’s Nagarjuna forests where you would reside for the course duration only helps thicken the meditative constitution of your mind and allows you to soulfully reconnect with nature.

Revise and re-learn asana basics on this program under the careful guidance of your YTT instructor, expand the concentrative power of your mind with self-led and guided meditation techniques, integrate diaphragmatic pranayama breathworks in your asana exercise, and go in-depth with textual readings from discourses on yoga. Additionally, over the course period of 300 Hour YTT with Himalayan Yoga Academy, you will be brought up as a capable teacher possessing the necessary skills of asana demonstrations, hands-on assistance, and powerful articulation of the values of the yogic path.

Description

Taking the values of yogic discipline beyond the mat and outside class hours into the thorough fares of everyday, this course attempts to imbibe mindfulness, calming breathwork, and rooting in the life-affirming philosophy of yogic holism in all spheres of life. A typical day unfolds at the training with purifying rituals of drinking water, nasal and mouth cleansing with jala neti; followed by mindful prayer and sonorous chant for invoking the auspicious within. This is followed with warm-up and basic movements-based Hatha asana exercise to unwind the sleep-ridden body. The comprehensive Surya Namaskar sequence is revisited every morning, thus bringing perfection. At theory and discourse sessions during the day, the students are encouraged to understand and deliberate the key concepts of yogic life. Anything from relating personal stories of inspiration to understanding civilizational crisis in light of yogic dictums can be brought to the table. Complimenting the intellectual and metaphysical exploration of key concepts such as dharma, karma, moksha, or ahimsa, etc, the students are led to live out the days of retreat developing a sattvic, plant-based, clean diet, helping fellow learners in the community style life at the retreat home, offering selfless service for social welfare by teaching at local schools, developing a ritual of offering prayers at appointed times of the day, thus invoking the Supreme One within every being, and lastly-- develop a ritual of self-led study, meditation and asana practice over the duration of the course.

Sundays and some days of festivals on this 36 days time, are spent a little differently. There’s always some jubilee to take part in at the school on the festive days of the Indic calendar. On the leisurely off days, whether you go on an outing in Kathmandu city or trek in the jungles -- your call!
